As the title says…

New date goal for getting the race car running!

It has been quiet here for a little while…. mostly due to Curt’s various trips to the ‘Boro (thats craptastic work for those who don’t know), liaisons with women of ill repute (but of good reputation), or as recent as yesterday, praying to the porcelain goddess in his bathroom – aye, she is a cruel mistress.

Anyway, Waterford Hills Road Course has posted their schedule for 2009 and we now have some Open Track days to look forward to. We will most likely be without a roll cage, racing seats, or mustaches but it would be great to shake out the car and maybe blow the motor up so we don’t have to drive this car at Lemons :)

OTD 1 – Sunday, May 3
OTD 2 – Sunday, May 31
OTD 3 – Saturday, August 1
OTD 4 – Saturday, September 5
OTD 5 – Saturday, September 26

Thou Shall Not Wrench on Race car with Camera in Pocket

Curt, the poor bastard, cracked the LCD on his new blingtastic digital camera while sacrificing his body in the name of race car goodness… Dumb Ass.

In actual Race Car news.. Last night was productive if not a little uneventful. We re-assembled the cross member inside the car that supports the dashboard and keeps your car from squishing if you get T-Boned. The interior steering assembly was then mounted to that. We hooked the shifter back up, we found that I randomly disconnected the clutch slave cylinder from the clutch, so we re-attached that. We swapped one of the two doors from the old, crisply Celica. We are swapping out the doors because that Celica had manual windows and locks and is much lighter than the all powered counterparts. This also gives us some “Lemons Cred” as this car looks to end up 3 different colors.. I think the car transitioning from black to gold to red might not be too bad looking if we add some paint or pin striping…

Anyway, we ended the night by trying to re-introduce wiring into the cabin. Not quiet an Epic Fail, but close. I see a lot of bad applesauce and angry noise in my future… Jesus who does shit like this?
